This design is a celebration of daily mindful movement. The design is made of 365 unique marks that each represent a daily session of a fitness practice. Like the workouts performed, each mark is unique and contributes to the design, adding structure and depth to the whole, building vibrant and supple flow. The design is meant to illustrate the effects that small, daily sessions of mindful movement create for body and mind.
The Daily Burn connection:
To create this design, I used actual workouts that I (and my faithful DB tribe of friends) did from Daily Burn’s DB 365 program. Every day in 2021 I logged the DB 365 workout, including the name of the day’s trainer and the number of burpees (or variation of a burpee) we did. Next, I assigned each of the 28 trainers a unique color, based on my impression of their personality, workout style, intensity, etc. Then, starting on a grey background (because the Daily Burn mats are grey) I began with Nora’s January 1 workout, making a single mark for that day and then every sequential day of the year to represent each workout. If we did burpees, I added the count using white dots along the mark. In the end, the design is a history of every vibrant workout and every sweaty burpee we did in the 365 days of 2021.
