When we chose the name "Alight by the Brook" for our hobby farm, the name came from a double meaning. In one sense, "Brook" refers to the river that borders the property. In the other, "Brook" refers to our young filly Honeybrook, a founding partner of our little horse farm operation. Honeybrook is a Premarin rescue who was weaned early and brought up with other orphans at a nearby horse rescue farm. She has since found her forever family in Colorado, but her influence on our lives and on our farm remains strong. This painting is of Honeybrook as I remember her best: a beautiful, energetic two year old with a mission to inform.
